The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Pledges $100M to Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Bill & Melinda Gates continue to use their wealth for the worlds greater good. Their Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals around the globe has committed to donating $100M towards the Coronavirus relief efforts.
On Wednesday, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation noted that $20 million will immediately go toward detecting, isolating and treating the deadly virus with the goal of containing. Also, $10 million from the pledged to combat the outbreak late last month.
According to the New York Post, “The Foundation said those funds will go to multilateral bodies such as the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the World Health Organization.”
In a public statement, Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman shared, “Our hope is that these resources will help catalyze a rapid and effective international response. This response should be guided by science, not fear, and it should build on the steps that the World Health Organization has taken to date.”
It’s also been reported that funding will be allocated to public health agencies in China and other countries affected by the outbreak.
