Music superstar Nicki Minaj aka Onika Maraj recently visited her home country of Trinidad and Tobago, where she participated in the annual carnival celebration.
During her visit, Nikki also took time to visit the St. Jude’s Home for Girls, where she announced a personal contribution of $25,000.
“I want to thank you for your work with the girls”, Nikki shared. “I want to thank you for giving them hope and inspiration, and they’ve even given me hope and inspiration being here today. And I want to donate $25,000 to help the girls.”
The St. Jude’s Home for Girls is a center for learning—immersed in religious and practical knowledge building, and has catered to the needs and care of local displaced girls for over a century.
This school seeks always to build the minds, hearts, body and souls of girls, teaching them everything from basic proficiencies to vocational skills, to academic preparation for CXC training.

According to Complex, Miraj also suggested that there could be plans in the future to build a recreational center, saying, “I came to get ideas and you guys gave me a lot of great ideas on creating a building here in Trinidad where young people can go to and have recreational fun.”
