Hollywood actor Kirk Douglas, passed away this month at the age of 103. It’s reported that Kirk—also father of Michael Douglas left a bulk of his estate to charity.
The motion picture icon has reportedly left $50 Million to the Douglas Foundation, which he founded in 1964.
The Douglas Foundation is one of the entertainment industry’s largest and oldest private philanthropic institutions, the Foundation is committed to helping those who might not otherwise be able to help themselves.
Douglas wanted $50 million of his estate donated to various charities through his Foundation. According to the Mirror, “among those getting a bequest is a scholarship program at his alma mater St. Lawrence University, Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, Culver City’s Kirk Douglas Theatre and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.”
