As wildfires continue to rage throughout Australia, many high-profile celebrities, athletes and politicians have taken to social media to call for help and donations.
Grammy Award artist Pink aka Alecia Moore has now stepped up to show major support.
The global performer announced that she would be donating $500,000 to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. She also shared a list of local fire stations and their donation pages with her fans.
“I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires,” Pink tweeted Saturday to her 32.2 million Twitter followers. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”
The wildfires, which have been raging since September, have already burned about 5 million hectares – 12.35 million acres – and destroyed more than 1,400 homes.
The singer isn’t the only American pitching in. According to CBS: The Angeles National Forest Service is set to send 20 firefighters from different parts of the L.A. Metro area to Australia to help battle the raging wildfires devastating the country.
Australian Comedian—Celeste Barber has also taken action to support her country. She launched a Facebook fundraiser on Friday and raised more than $10 million (AUD) in 24 hours, with money going directly to the NSW Rural Fire Service and Brigades Donations Fund. It’s since reached more than $250k
