Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton continues to spread holiday cheer throughout the city of Charlotte!
Yesterday, Newton partnered with Chase and Bojangles for the 6th Annual Santa Cam’s Surprise Sleigh. Over $130,000 in donations and added gifts were handed out during their four stops.
The first stop was Phillip O. Berry High School, where a $15,000 check was donated towards the athletic department. Also, fifty student-athletes were given Under Armour sports backpacks and water bottles.
For the second stop, they visited Westerly Hills Elementary, where every staff member received a $100 Visa gift card—just in time to help finish their holiday shopping.
Santa Cam showed no signs of slowing down—as they moved on to the third stop. This time, they made a stop at Urban Promise Charlotte After-School and Summer Camp! Urban Promise was gifted a $25K financial donation to help continue their awesome work! Plus, the kids and Street Leaders all got new Under Armour backpacks and hats.
For the fourth and final stop, they paid a visit to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, where they surprised some hard working volunteers and presented a $25K financial donation to the Food Bank.
After wrapping their final stop, guests enjoyed a delicious Bojangles’ meal and were treated to a gift card.
After highlighting all of the visits via Facebook and thanking the supporting sponsors, Santa Cam shared: “T’was a FUN and FESTIVE day! Over $130K was distributed throughout the course of the afternoon. THANK YOU to our presenting partner Chase for helping make this such a special day!”
