For 13 years, Burlington has hosted an annual coat drive at its retail locations. This year, Chicago’s hometown hero—Common is joining in to help launch the initiative in the Windy City.
The rapper’s Common Ground Foundation is patnering with Burlington and national non-profit organization Delivering Good to disperse coats within the Chicago community.
The award-winning rapper, actor, activist and philanthropist founded The Common Ground Foundation over a decade ago. It’s mission is to empower high school students from under-served communities to become future leaders. A mission that’s clearly being displayed through their partnership with the major retailer.
The launch has taken place at Burlington’s North State Street location in downtown Chicago. All donated coats are being distributed to those in need of warmth within store communities and those who donate will get 10 percent off purchases through January 20, 2020.
“I am committed to supporting and uplifting the people of Chicago through any ways possible,” Common said. “The Common Ground Foundation has been one of the greatest and most impactful ways to give back to my hometown. I am excited to team up with Burlington and Delivering Good and bring it home so that we can give Chicagoans a sense of hope, keep them warm and make a difference in their lives.”
