The Grammy award-winning artist has brought inspiration and faith to many during his Sunday Services.
This time, Mr. West created a special moment by sharing tracks from his #1 album “Jesus is King” for Harris County jail inmates in Houston, Texas.
West said his visit was “a mission, not a show,” according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. A mission which left many inmates in tears.
The “Follow God ” singer performed for more than 200 male inmates before using an underground tunnel to access a separate jail to perform for a smaller crowd of women inmates, according to the Houston Chronicle.
“Say what you want about the man,” said Jason Spencer, a public affairs director for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “But Kanye West and his choir brought some light to people who needed it today at the Harris County Jail.”
While in Houston, Kanye and his amazing choir brought down the house at Joel Osteen’s 17,000 seat Lakewood Christian Church—for two packed out shows on November 18th.
