Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake Pledge $6 Million to Bahamas Hurricane Relief Efforts

Championship golfer Tiger Woods announced his partnership with Grammy artist Justin Timberlake to create a relief fund for the Bahamas, which is still reeling from Hurricane Dorian.
Woods and Timberlake established the One Bahamas Fund and are matching dollar for dollar the next $6 million raised, the celebrities tweeted Thursday.
“Help us turn this first $6 million into $12 million, and join our efforts to restore and rebuild The Bahamas,” Woods tweeted.
NEXUS Luxury Collection, Royal Bank of Canada and Albany, a luxury resort in the Bahamas, are also part of the fundraising effort.
“As a strong believer in philanthropy and teamwork, I’m excited to partner with my friends @jtimberlake, #NEXUSLuxuryCollection, @rbc and @albanybahamas to establish the ONE Bahamas Fund in support of Hurricane Dorian relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts,” Woods said in a series of tweets.
The ONE Bahamas Fund will “support a wide range of immediate recovery needs and important long-term rebuilding initiatives required in the country … including a focus on shelter (temporary and low-cost housing), living necessities (clothing, food and communication devices), educational support (scholarships, transportation costs and supplies), community (aiding in the design and development of infrastructure needs), and seed funding for Bahamian businesses.”
